Century from Perera led Srilanka helped to sum more than 300 against Bangladesh; Malinga to retire from ODI

In the departure match of Lasith Malinga against Bangladesh, Sri Lankan batsman Kusal Perera (Kusal Perera) displayed amazing batting. Kusal hit a century by scoring heavily in Bangladesh's bowling in this match, and at the same time, Sri Lanka's team scored more than 300 in their innings.


Bangladesh is currently touring Sri Lanka where the three-match ODI series is being played. In the first match of this one-day series, Kusal Perera played a very good inning against Bangladesh and scored his fifth ODI century. Perera, batting in a stormy form, completed his half-century on just 38 balls and then he faced 82 balls to complete his century. When completing his century, he scored 17 fours and a six. In this match, Kusare Perera played 111 runs in 99 balls and his strike rate was 112.12. Kusal Perera shared a 97-run partnership for the second wicket with Dimuth Karunaratne in this match, and together with Kusle Mendis for the third wicket, he made a 100-run partnership for 100.

This is the second century of Kusle Perera against Bangladesh in ODI cricket. He also made his ODI debut against the same team. Perera had played 106 ODI innings against Bangladesh on February 22, 2014, in his ODI debut against Bangladesh. This is one of the finest innings against Bangladesh in ODIs now. His best innings in ODI cricket is 135 runs, which he played against Ireland in Dublin on 18 June 2016. He scored 135 runs against Ireland in this match.
